Position Overview Director, Business Development Officer – Commercial Banking will lead growth through business development, client relationship management, deal structuring, and cross‑selling initiatives within BMO Financial Group. Location: 320 S Canal Street. Application Deadline: July25,2026. Key Responsibilities Facilitate growth for the bank via business development and management of key client relationships. Maintain a record of significant revenue generation from sales and syndications. Act as an escalation point for complex client issues and resolve conflicts while maintaining strong client relationships. Lead structuring of high‑value, complex deals and credit approvals, ensuring alignment with client needs and bank objectives. Drive pricing coordination and serve as primary client advocate to ensure alignment with client needs. Negotiate high‑value, complex transactions and credit approvals, ensuring deals meet client needs. Manage high‑value client portfolios, driving cross‑selling, retention, and profitability. Implement cross‑selling initiatives to transition opportunities into revenue‑generating sales. Lead market coverage strategies to expand portfolios, identify opportunities, and align with business goals. Represent the bank at industry forums and conferences, leveraging insights on trends, competition, and emerging products to drive strategic decision‑making. Engage with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams to align strategies, address client needs, and drive holistic business solutions. Deliver reports to leadership on team performance, client satisfaction, market trends, and key strategic initiatives. Provide strategic advisory on loan products, options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements to align with client needs. Build and maintain strong long‑term relationships with high‑value and strategic clients to ensure exceptional service and partnership. Analyze market trends, client industry developments, and competitive positioning to inform strategies and optimize client satisfaction. Collaborate with internal teams to define products, solutions, and strategies to fit clients’ needs. Identify share‑of‑wallet opportunities and leverage analysis tools to grow portfolio that exceeds ROE thresholds. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal controls, and compliance policies throughout relationship management. Operate at a group/enterprise‑wide level, serving as specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders. Apply expertise, think creatively, and implement changes in response to shifting trends while managing risk within the organization’s Risk Management Framework. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in relationship management, account management, or portfolio management in a corporate or similar segmented banking environment with sales metrics. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting; other related disciplines or equivalent work experience considered. Credit qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills when required for the credit portfolio. Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge. Compensation & Benefits Salary: $122,400 – $228,000 (salaried). Total compensation may include performance‑based incentives, discretionary bonuses, and a commission structure.
