Oncology Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

An opportunity is available for an experienced Oncology Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient infusion setting. The RN will play a critical role in administering chemotherapy and supporting patients undergoing treatment.

Key Responsibilities

Administer chemotherapy and manage patient care within the oncology outpatient infusion unit.
Monitor patient responses to treatments and manage any side effects.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Utilize electronic health records and documentation systems proficiently.
Maintain a safe and sterile environment while following established protocols.
Participate in patient education regarding treatment plans and self-care strategies.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of Oncology-specific nursing experience.
Experience in an outpatient clinic setting preferred, but first-time travelers will be considered.
Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Card is mandatory.
Preferred Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification.

Work Details

Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:5.
Shift: 8-hour days from 07:45 AM to 05:15 PM.
Expected hours: 40 hours per week, with 13-week contract options available.
No weekend shifts required.
Float between designated outpatient locations is required, with travel of up to 14.1 miles.

Additional Information

Prior to starting, a pre-shift COVID-19 screening is required as per health regulations.
Unit orientation will last 8 hours and will vary based on the skill level of the traveler.
Scrub colors must be navy blue, and scrubs are not provided.
Please note that each nurse must bring their own stethoscope.
