Essential Functions of this role

As a customer‑focused technical product expert, the Technicians will apply highly developed troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical skills, and sound knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control systems to install and maintain processing & packaging machinery. Additional tasks include providing preventive maintenance and on‑site equipment repair.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

• Travel 80% (Mon-Fri) away from home visiting food plants primarily in the Southwest Region of the country but may travel beyond the territory as required. After training travel will reduce to 60-70% (Mon-Fri).
• Read diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering specifications and service manuals to determine work procedures.
• Engage with customers on site, analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problems, and determine actions needed to restore system to performance specifications.
• Share information with team members, customers, and your supervisor to help prioritize and keep customer apprised of corrective actions and equipment status.
• Inform customers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Participate as necessary in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.

Requirements

• Five (5) plus years of maintenance experience — servicing, troubleshooting and repair of electro‑mechanical automated machinery.
• Experience of maintenance, installation, service and diagnosing issues/repairs on automated food processing and packaging machinery is preferred.
• Practical application of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and techniques to ensure equipment performance at manufacturers specifications.
• Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems.
• Initiative, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgement and decision making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others and leadership.
• 60-70% travel during the week (Mon-Fri) during training, 60-70% travel after training.
• Travel to the islands will be required for this opportunity.
• Food Processing or Packaging Machinery experience is desired.
• Bilingual English-Spanish skills are desired.
