Position Overview

As an LVN , you will provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), including those who are medically fragile or have behavioral health needs. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, you'll play an essential role in improving the health, safety, and quality of life of the individuals you serve.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments through oral, injection, rectal, and other approved routes

• Monitor patient health, vital signs, and identify changes in condition

• Perform skilled nursing procedures including:

  • Tracheostomy care

  • Wound care

  • G-Tube/J-Tube care

  • Respiratory treatments

• Collect laboratory specimens and perform health screenings

• Accurately document patient care in electronic medical records

• Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams

• Assist with mentoring and training newly hired LVNs and direct care staff

• Evaluate patient outcomes and communicate concerns appropriately

• Ensure compliance with all facility policies and nursing standards

Qualifications

· Current Texas Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) License

· Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification

· Experience in one of the following facility types: Long-Term Care, IDD, Behavioral Health, or Skilled Nursing.

· Strong clinical assessment and technical nursing skills

· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

· Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused
