Job Summary The Nurse Aide Assistant Faculty Position is a full‑time, 9‑month assignment in CCD’s rapidly expanding Department of Nursing. Full‑time faculty members teach 18 working units each semester, with the option to teach summer courses for additional compensation. Faculty may be required to teach at either of our campuses (Lowry and Auraria) and at a variety of times (days, evenings, and some weekends). In addition to teaching, the role involves developing and refining course curricula, leading program initiatives, and contributing to the growth and success of the Nurse Aide program through thoughtful program management and administrative support. Duties & Responsibilities Provide didactic and clinical instruction for nursing students, including 10‑hour shifts and supervision on clinical rotations with community partners. Mentor and support diverse student populations in their growth and education. Operate and manage a skills lab setting to observe and support the application of new skills and knowledge. Conduct course management tasks, including student evaluations, course paperwork, program evaluation, advisement, and orientation. Design curriculum and prepare course materials and files, tracking student documentation. Provide administrative support, responding to requests from the DNEP, Department Chair, or Program Coordinator. Collaborate collegially and professionally with other staff members. Serve as an outstanding role model for students and fulfill other duties as assigned by the Chair. Minimum Qualifications Active, unencumbered RN or LPN nursing license in the State of Colorado. Postsecondary Career and Technical Education (CTE) credential with at least 4000 paid non‑teaching, patient care hours, including a minimum of one‑year full‑time nursing experience caring for chronically ill and/or geriatric patients. Completion of a course in teaching adults (e.g., Train the Trainer) or documented experience teaching adult learners, or at least one year of experience managing nurse aides. Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish and English. BLS certification. Ability to pass a background check and urine drug screen. Ability to work with Microsoft Suite. Preferred Qualifications Proven ability to assure equitable outcomes for students, partners, and stakeholders using inclusive and equitable strategies. Experience building successful, collegial relationships with internal and external stakeholders and community partners. Past membership or leadership on committees or task forces. Experience developing straightforward, comprehensive assessment tools and/or learning objectives. Experience teaching in a clinical setting. Physical & Cognitive Demands The position requires work in a standard office and/or classroom environment, routine use of standard office equipment, and occasional movement or transport of classroom equipment up to 25 lbs. Cognitive demands include analyzing, coordinating, synthesizing, negotiating, communicating, instructing, and interpersonal skills.
