Position: Human Resources Manager
Location: Onsite in Grandville, MI
Salary: $80,000-100,000


Our client is a growing manufacturing company seeking an experience Human Resources Manager to oversee HR functions across multiple facilitates. This position serves as the organization's primary HR resource, partnering closely with operations and leadership to support employees, ensure compliance, safety, and drive key people initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and hands-on HR support for multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Partner with leaders to address employee relations matters, coaching opportunities, performance concerns, and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations and maintain up-to-date HR policies and practices.
  • Oversee employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave programs, and annual open enrollment activities.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims, return-to-work programs, and related administrative processes.
  • Lead recruitment efforts from sourcing and interviewing through onboarding and new hire orientation.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data, reporting, and support payroll-related functions as needed.
  • Administer leave and accommodation processes, including FMLA, ADA, COBRA, and other applicable programs.
  • Support workplace safety initiatives by partnering with management on OSHA compliance, incident investigations, and safety training efforts.
  • Coordinate employee engagement activities, recognition programs, training opportunities, and internal communications.
  • Supervise and mentor an HR Coordinator while identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and efficiencies.
  • Travel between facilities to provide visible, accessible HR support and build strong employee relationships.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, or distribution environments.
  • Previous experience leading HR initiatives and/or supervising staff is highly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Employee Relations
    • Benefits and Leave Administration
    • Workers' Compensation
    • Employment Law and Regulatory Compliance
    • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding
    • 401(k) Administration
  • Experience utilizing HRIS platforms; Paycor experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and workplace safety programs preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
