Primary Location: United States (US) - Tennessee - Greeneville

As a Controls Technician II with John Deere Power Products in Greeneville, TN, you will support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving industrial automation and control systems. This position is responsible for supporting production uptime, equipment reliability, safety, and quality through PLC troubleshooting, electrical diagnostics, automation support, and continuous improvement activities.

Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:

• Support operations in a production environment focused on safety, quality, delivery, and teamwork.
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine safeguarding requirements, and applicable electrical safety practices.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and support PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and troubleshoot / modify PLC programming as needed.
• Troubleshoot and support Allen-Bradley PLC systems, including I/O, sensors, actuators, safety devices, and communication networks.
• Support and troubleshoot Fanuc robotic systems and automation equipment.
• Support and troubleshoot Ignition HMI/SCADA applications and operator interfaces.
• Diagnose and resolve industrial Ethernet communication issues involving PLCs, HMIs, robots, drives, scanners, and related devices.
• Support automated assembly equipment, conveyors, material handling systems, barcode systems, vision systems, VFDs, servo systems, and other automation-related equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, prints, and technical documentation.
• Verify programming changes and equipment repairs meet safety, quality, and production requirements.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring equipment failures.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
• Assist Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance with equipment startups, commissioning activities, and process improvements.
• Utilize manufacturing and maintenance systems to document troubleshooting activities, repairs, and equipment history.
• Support Maintenance, Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and Operations teams as required.
• Perform general maintenance activities when controls support is not required.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have at least one of the following:

• • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
  • At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience

• Maintenance certification and/or at least 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ability and willingness to work any shift and potential overtime (including weekends).
• Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift – with or without reasonable accommodation; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
