Job Summary Phlebotomist II – Sherman Oaks, CA Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with rotational weekends. Salary and Compensation Pay range: $24.30 – $28.90 per hour. Salary offers are based on relevant skills, training, experience, education, and certifications. Successful candidates may be eligible for an annual performance bonus. Qualifications Licenses and Certifications State phlebotomy license required. NHA licenses in CA, WA, and NV are not accepted. Required Work Experience Three years phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections Keyboard/data entry experience Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record, if applicable Required Education High school diploma or equivalent Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington Additional Requirements The position requires the ability to effectively communicate in English. Responsibilities Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams Administer oral solutions according to established training Research test/client information and confirm and verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools Navigate a computer and accurately enter data – a requirement for success in this role Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information; collect payments when required, following corporate policies Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test order Perform all non‑patient‑facing duties: inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email as appropriate Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data when required Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner (maintenance logs and temperature logs) Complete online and in‑person training courses promptly Equal Opportunity Employer Statement Qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the following laws and ordinances: the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, and the California Fair Chance Act.
