Founded in 2009, we have evolved into the largest, privately owned new homebuilder in the Tampa Bay and Central Florida markets.We are seeking a new Accounts Payable Clerk to join our growing accounting team. The AP Clerk is responsible for performing a range of general clerical, accounting, and bookkeeping support functions in a high volume environment.Essential Duties:Open, sort, distribute mail and drop off FedEx packages as neededMaintain a financial filing systemSort and code overhead invoicesObtain appropriate approval to process, invoices and check requests for paymentEnter and upload invoices into systemAssist in preparing check runsAssist in month end proceduresResearch and resolve invoice discrepancies and issuesCorrespond with vendors and respond to inquiriesAssist in providing supporting documentation for auditsAssist with other accounting projects in the officePrepare annual office files for archiveReview and approve other team members batches for timely and accurate processingComprehensive knowledge of AP month end processes and accrualsManages difficult vendor situations, responds promptly to vendor needs, solicits vendor feedback to improve service, responds to requests for service and assistance and meets commitmentsManage and reconcile monthly vendor statementInteracts and communicates clearly with coworkers, clients, and vendors in a courteous, friendly mannerExhibits tact, consideration, and patience in difficult situationsApproaches sudden, unexpected challenges effectively with confidencePunctual, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve performanceFamiliar with a company Chart of Accounts StructureKnowledgeable in ExcelQualifications and Minimum Requirements:Strong attention to detailMotivated, self-starter that can also work on a teamHigh sense of urgency and ability to workAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify, and address problems, meet deadlinesProficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and WordHigh school diploma. Associate degree in accounting preferred.3-5 years' experience with accounts payable or general accountingKnowledge of basic accounting principlesAbility to work independently and prioritize tasksStrong analytical abilities
