Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: RN Specialty: RN - Telemetry Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred License: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required Must-Have: - EPIC experience - Demonstrated competency in Dysrhythmia Description: The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated shift. Nursing care is prescribed based on the nursing process that is consistent with the medical plan of care and is based on input from the patient and significant others. The nurse collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team. Delivery of patient care is coordinated for patients of any age, including neonatal, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Teaching and discharge planning needs are incorporated into the overall plan of care. Certain aspects of patient care delivery can be delegated to other nursing staff based on their current clinical competence and legal scope of practice. The essential functions include utilizing the nursing process to assess patients, creating individualized plans of care, and evaluating the effectiveness of those plans. The nurse modifies plans as necessary, considering age-specific, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients. Collaboration with other disciplines is important in formulating the plan of care. Knowledge of illnesses, injuries, diseases, and developmental stages is applied to patient care. Pharmacology knowledge is used for preparing and administering medications and IV therapy. Patient and family education is provided throughout all phases of care delivery. The nurse assesses knowledge and plans appropriate learning activities tailored to patients' age and unique needs. Effective communication skills are utilized to assure communication with patients, families, staff, physicians, and coworkers. Responsibilities include reporting observations, reactions, and problems in a timely manner to appropriate personnel. Ensuring continuity of care involves promptly processing and following through on physician's orders and all aspects of the treatment plan. The nurse demonstrates an ability to prioritize in providing patient care and responding to changes in workload. Patient advocacy is practiced, ensuring rights are preserved. The nurse documents assessments, nursing interventions, and care provided to all assigned patients. Technical aspects of patient care are performed according to established policies and procedures, adapting techniques to patients' needs. Emergency procedures, such as CPR, are performed as necessary. Safe use of equipment, including electric beds, infusion pumps, and physiological monitors, is essential. Other job-related duties may be assigned. Associates are required to receive all vaccinations as a condition of employment.
