Lead Software Engineer - Valuation Control Tech

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• We require formal training or certification in software engineering concepts, along with 5+ years of hands-on experience.
• We need extensive Python engineering experience, including platform delivery and financial application development such as derivatives pricing, risk management, trade booking, and quantitative analytics.
• We require strong Databricks and Apache Spark expertise, including PySpark, Delta Lake, and performance tuning.
• We need solid AWS experience across core services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, IAM, and container or orchestration services, plus an understanding of cloud security and cost management.
• We require a strong understanding of financial products, valuation and pricing concepts, and market data.
• We need proven experience leading engineering teams and delivering in a controlled, regulated environment.
• We require strong SQL, data modeling, and data-quality engineering skills.
• We need excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to bridge business and technical domains.
• Preferred: knowledge of IPV, prudent valuation, XVA, or fair-value reserve methodologies.
• Preferred: experience with reactive or streaming computation and real-time dashboards.
• Preferred: experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices on AWS.
• Preferred: AWS certification such as Solutions Architect, Developer, or Data Engineer Associate or Professional.

• We lead end-to-end architecture for Athena (Python), Databricks (PySpark/Delta Lake), and AWS-based valuation control platforms.
• We develop and improve pricing, risk, IPV, valuation adjustment, and fair value reporting tools within Athena.
• We design, build, and optimize large-scale Databricks ETL and analytics pipelines for pricing, market, and P&L data.
• We architect and manage cloud-native AWS solutions, including infrastructure, security, automation, and modernization initiatives.
• We establish engineering best practices, code quality standards, CI/CD processes, testing frameworks, and production monitoring.
• We deliver automation and controls for independent price verification, valuation uncertainty detection, reconciliations, and regulatory compliance.
• We collaborate with valuation control, risk, finance, quant, and business stakeholders to define requirements and drive Agile delivery.
• We provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, oversee production support, and ensure scalable, auditable, and resilient solutions.
• We drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes, while maintaining secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and reusable patterns.
• We apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain capabilities, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation, to increase the value delivered through automation.
