Make a meaningful impact in young learners’ lives as a Special Education Teacher focused on early childhood, on a contract basis for the upcoming school year in the Middlebury, VT area. Work in a supportive environment dedicated to fostering growth and development for students with diverse needs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the educational experience for children at a critical stage in their development.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Possess a valid Vermont Special Education Teaching Certification
- Hold a degree in Special Education
- Experience with early childhood education or specialized training preferred
- Strong communication skills and a patient, engaging approach with young learners
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the needs of each early childhood student
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to support a diverse range of learning styles and abilities
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic support
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment focused on social, emotional, and academic development
- Maintain clear and effective communication with families and participate in regular meetings
