Step into an impactful role guiding young learners as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to support elementary students with complex needs in a Setting 3 classroom focused on Developmental Cognitive Disabilities (DCD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with a cluster for Emotional Behavioral Disorders (EBD). You'll work closely with a dedicated team in a single building near Cottage Grove, MN, making a meaningful difference in the lives of 6-10 students.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching license with ASD or DCD endorsement (Tier 3 or 4 required)
- Demonstrated experience in Setting 3 special education environments, preferably with elementary-aged students
- Background supporting students with DCD, ASD, and EBD needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive classroom culture
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized instruction and behavioral support plans for students with diverse needs
- Create a nurturing, structured classroom environment tailored to each learner
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families
- Utilize data-driven practices for progress monitoring and reporting
- Support students in achieving IEP goals through creative and evidence-based strategies
