About the Position

Shift Information

• Shift Type: 12‑hour weekend day shifts
• Shift Times: 07:00 – 19:30
• Days: Friday / Saturday / Sunday
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
• Scheduling:
  • No self‑scheduling
  • Block scheduling when possible
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday

Responsibilitie

• Provide patient care on a Med Surg/Tele unit (Ortho, Uro, Neuro, Trauma, Vascular) .
• Monitor and assess patients, including telemetry‑monitored patients.
• Administer medications, including titrating drips (mainly Heparin).
• Perform wound care, post‑op care, and manage specialty equipment (CPAP/BiPAP/High Flow).
• Collaborate with telemetry techs, CNAs, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Document care accurately in Cerner .
• Float to other adult Med/Surg units as needed.
• Follow unit protocols and maintain a safe, clean patient environment.

Licensure & Experience

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – License to submit: Yes
• Minimum Experience:
  • 1–2 years acute care nursing experience required
• BSN: Not required

  Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA) — American Heart Association

  Clinical & Unit Requirements

• Unit: Med Surg/Tele – 7N Ortho/Uro/Neuro
• Unit Type: Telemetry
• Care Setting: Acute
• Must be able to handle:
  • Ortho trauma & joint replacements
  • Vascular procedures (fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomy)
  • Urology cases (TURP, TURBT, CBI)
  • Neuro-spine patients
  • OBGYN oncology
  • Acute medical patients
