This team member will liaise across all departments of the organization as well as with external partners and vendors to ensure accurate accounting, prompt payment of invoices, employee expense reimbursements, and other disbursements. Other responsibilities within the Accounting Team will be assigned on an as needed basis.Responsibilities:Download daily credit card and bank transactions and summarizes themDownload monthly bank statements and prepare cash reconciliation templatesReconciles each deposit into a cash account against transaction reports, and works with external vendors to resolve discrepanciesMonitors the accounting department inbox and responds to questions from vendors and staffVerifies vendor information and creates vendor profilesSets up outgoing bank transfers and creates ACH or wire templates as neededReview, audit, and process employee expense claims and credit cards, ensuring valid business justifications and itemized receiptAssist in the monthly close processAssist in interim and annual audits with external auditorsOther duties as assigned to support the department and the DNC's missionQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or 1-3 years of relevant experienceKnowledge of general accounting proceduresProficient in data entry and managementStrong experience with spreadsheet softwareExperience with Sage Intacct and automated accounts payable software preferredSkills:Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work cohesively with other staff membersStrong time management skillsConfidentialityAbility to communicate concisely across multiple mediaSalary: The starting salary for the Staff Accountant position is $60,000, on an annualized basis, commensurate with experience and qualifications.This is a full-time, exempt position, that may require work on weekends.
