About the Position

Job Title: RN - Med/Surg Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in Med/Surg License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred Description: This is a travel RN position in a Medical-Surgical unit. The unit has a total of 29 beds, with an additional capacity to overflow to peds, accommodating a total of 39 patients. When at full capacity, the unit has a charge nurse, 8 RNs, and an ACT on staff. Day and night shifts both have a charge nurse, 8 RNs, and an ACT from 10 AM to 10 PM. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 5:1. Staff will work with remote telemetry equipment. The electronic medical record system utilized is Meditech. Candidates must have a minimum of 1-year current Med/Surg RN acute care experience. BLS certification is required, and ACLS certification is a plus. Typical procedures on the unit include post-operative care and management of cardiac drips such as amiodarone and diltiazem, as well as heparin drips.
