Office Assistant, Athletic Performance Department: Intercollegiate Athletics Position Open To: All Applicants Weekly Scheduled Hours: 19 FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Earliest Start Date: Immediately Position Duration: Expected to Continue Until Sep 30, 2025 Location: AUSTIN, TX Purpose Texas Athletic Performance, Baseball/Softball is seeking a qualified and growth-minded part‑time Office Assistant for the 2025‑2026 academic year. Designed for applicants pursuing a career in baseball and/or softball Strength & Conditioning, the role will develop the ability to bridge training theory to practice, assist in the weight room and on‑field conditioning sessions, and learn the intricacies of collegiate coaching including training design. Interns will report to the Associate Head Coach, Athletic Performance. Responsibilities Under the supervision of full-time Athletic Performance Staff, develop the knowledge and skills to design, implement and evaluate training programmes for student‑athletes and improve the ability to teach safe techniques. Work in heavy collaboration with full-time Athletic Performance Coaches of both baseball and softball. Utilize, interpret and collect data from various technologies (Vald, EliteForm, Smartabase and Catapult). Support Athletic Performance Staff with the daily operations of the training facilities and aid with the maintenance and organisation of training facilities and equipment, including practice set‑up and breakdown. Learn to communicate effectively with student‑athletes, medical personnel, health and wellness staff, and sports coaches. Identify and prepare for daily routines, both individual and group settings for the weight room and on field. Integrate with on‑field staff to improve players movement patterns. Perform other duties as assigned. Consistently exemplify the core values and quality standards of Texas Athletics, act ethically, seek guidance when unsure, and comply with all relevant laws, policies and regulations. Required Qualifications Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) certified Preferred Qualifications Certification in CPR and First Aid Completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science (undergraduate/graduate program) Salary Range $20 per hour Working Conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity Climbing of stairs Must be able to lift more than 50 lbs. and stand for extensive amounts of time May work around loud noises May work around standard office conditions Work Shift 2025-2026 Academic Year Work will be performed in person, on campus Flexible; weekly hours vary between 6 AM – 6 PM based on practice and game times and can be set around class schedules Required Materials Resume Cover Letter 3 Professional References with Contact Information Important (Applicants not current university employees or contingent workers) You will be prompted to submit your resume the first time you apply, then you will be provided an option to upload a new Resume for subsequent applications. Retirement Plan Eligibility The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
