Payroll & Human Resources Generalist (Mid-Level) We are seeking an experienced Payroll & Human Resources Generalist with 5+ years of progressive HR and payroll experience. This role is responsible for managing payroll operations for both union and non-union employees while supporting key HR functions including compliance, employee relations, onboarding, benefits administration, and policy implementation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, knowledgeable in labor laws and union agreements, and capable of balancing payroll accuracy with employee-focused HR support. Key Responsibilities Payroll Administration Process weekly, bi-weekly, and/or semi-monthly payroll for union and non-union employees. Ensure accurate calculation of wages, overtime, deductions, and benefits. Administer certified payroll and prevailing wage reporting when required. Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Coordinate payroll audits and year-end processing, including W-2s and tax reporting. Work closely with accounting and operations teams to resolve payroll discrepancies. Human Resources Manage employee onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes. Maintain employee personnel files and HRIS records. Assist with benefits administration, enrollment, and employee questions. Support employee relations matters and provide guidance on company policies. Coordinate recruiting activities, interview scheduling, and new hire documentation. Assist with performance management and employee development initiatives. Assist in development of companies people strategy. Compliance & Labor Relations Ensure compliance with employment laws, wage and hour regulations, and company policies. Interpret and administer collective bargaining agreements for union employees. Maintain compliance with EEO, FMLA, ADA, OSHA, workers' compensation, and other employment regulations. Assist with audits, investigations, and documentation requests. Monitor regulatory changes and recommend policy updates as needed. Qualifications 5+ years of payroll and human resources experience. Experience processing payroll for both union and non-union employees. Working knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and compliance requirements. Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms. Strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements and union reporting requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field. PHR, SHRM-CP, CPP, or similar certification preferred. Experience in construction, manufacturing, transportation, or other unionized environments. Experience with prevailing wage and certified payroll reporting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
