Medical Lab Technologist
Labcorp
Labcorp seeks a Medical Lab Technologist for its microbiology department in Portland, Oregon. The role involves performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, operating instrumentation, and ensuring accurate test results on a Monday-Friday evening shift with rotating weekends.
Responsibilities
- Assess specimen acceptability according to established testing criteria
- Perform routine and complex laboratory procedures following standard operating procedures
- Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation for proper functionality
- Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls
- Execute preventative maintenance and quality control documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology
- One year or more clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
- Proficiency with computers and laboratory information systems
- Current ASCP or AMT certification preferred
- Ability to pass standardized color blindness test
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
