Immerse yourself in a meaningful contract opportunity supporting elementary learners as a dedicated School Social Worker. This position is based near Des Plaines, IL, with work focused on engaging and uplifting a diverse group of young students. The assignment begins ASAP and runs through October 2nd, 2026, providing stability and the chance to build lasting connections.
You’ll work onsite only, providing direct support for a caseload of approximately 25 elementary students. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with educators for push-in services in special education classrooms, making a significant impact on students who need advocacy and personalized guidance.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois School Social Worker (SSW) license
- Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
- Prior experience working as a School Social Worker in an educational setting
- Passion for supporting and empowering elementary-age students
- Strong collaborative and communication skills
- Ability to provide both individual and group support, adapting services to meet diverse needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver counseling, crisis intervention, and social-emotional support to elementary students
- Partner with special education teams to deliver classroom-based interventions
- Help develop, implement, and monitor behavior and intervention plans
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, families, and faculty, fostering a positive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
- Keep communication open and positive with all stakeholders
