Job Description

This role focuses on TIG and stick welding on stainless steel pipe in a shop environment, producing high-quality welds for custom orders. You will interpret blueprints, prepare materials, and complete precise welds that meet strict quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG and stick (SMAW) welding on stainless steel pipe for custom orders.
• Read and interpret blueprints and welding drawings to determine specifications, layouts, and weld sequences.
• Set up welding equipment, select appropriate electrodes and filler materials, and adjust settings to achieve desired weld quality.
• Inspect materials and joints before welding to ensure proper fit-up and alignment.
• Execute welds that meet quality, structural, and safety requirements, including visual inspection of welds for defects.
• Follow shop procedures and safety guidelines, including proper handling of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Maintain welding tools, equipment, and work area in clean and orderly condition.
• Collaborate with team members in the shop to complete custom projects efficiently and on schedule.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of TIG and stick (SMAW) combo welding experience.
• Proven experience welding stainless steel pipe.
• Strong proficiency in TIG welding techniques.
• Strong proficiency in stick welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding drawings.
• Solid understanding of weld quality standards and inspection practices.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a busy shop environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working on custom fabrication projects in a shop setting.
• Ability to troubleshoot welding issues and adjust techniques or equipment settings as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing clean, precise welds.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills in a fabrication or production environment.

Work Environment

This position is based in a non-climate-controlled shop environment working on custom stainless steel pipe projects. You will spend most of your time on the shop floor using welding equipment and related tools, with exposure to typical fabrication conditions such as noise, heat, and metalwork. Appropriate work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety and comfort while performing welding and fabrication tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burleson, TX.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Burleson,TX.
