Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

Required Skills/Experience: Experience with PCA pumps required.

Special Requests: If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Block scheduling will be allowed as long as the needs of the unit are met.

Unit Details: Elective hips, knees, shoulders; fractures from falls; back and neck neurosurgeries; general Med-Surg. Uses IV fluids and PCA pumps; no heparin or other drips. CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow are managed by RT. Remote telemetry if needed, monitored by the 3rd floor; RNs do not read strips. Charge nurse coverage 24/7; day charge may take patients if necessary, and night charge carries a full patient assignment.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; day-shift weekends are Saturday/Sunday. Travelers may be expected to work holidays based on unit needs.

Floating Requirements: Travelers are the first to float. Floating is required to any Med-Surg units. If floated to Tele, they will be assigned patients within skillset.

7 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver’s license required for submission
