Staff Accountant

Founded in 1986, ChenMoore is a multidisciplinary firm that provides design, engineering and construction services for public and private sector clients. We are looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing finance team. The position will work closely with the Controller and CFO to support financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and audit compliance, especially in preparation for FAR audits. Responsibilities Assist with financial reporting, reconciliations and month‑end close processes Process accounts payable, issue checks and maintain vendor records Track consultant invoices and ensure payment is issued after client payment is received Record client payments and assist with cash application Review employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance Prepare checks for deposit and maintain banking records Download and organize bank statements Respond to vendor and consultant inquiries regarding payments Support and lead coordination of the annual FAR audit, including responding to auditor requests Maintain accurate and organized accounting documentation Perform other duties as assigned by leadership Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related fields 2–5 years of accounting experience (professional services or engineering firm experience is a plus) Knowledge of FAR regulations preferred Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems is a plus Strong Excel and analytical skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment Benefits Medical, vision and dental insurance Life and AD&D insurance Voluntary life with dependent coverage Short‑term and long‑term disability coverage Paid time off and paid holidays Flexible spending accounts with debit card Supplemental plans (critical illness, accident, etc.) 401(k) plan with competitive employer match Supplemental benefits and flexible work schedules Continuing education, mentorship programs and professional societies Community engagement and company cell phone allowance Equal Opportunity Employer ChenMoore is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
