Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead the daily operations of a well-established family-owned full-service pizza restaurant . This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional who enjoys leading from the front, developing teams, and taking ownership of every aspect of restaurant operations.

This is not a management role where you'll simply supervise from the office. We're looking for a true operator who is comfortable working alongside the team, supporting both Front-of-House and Back-of-House operations, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience every day.

The ideal candidate has experience in full-service restaurants, pizzerias, Italian concepts, or neighborhood bar-and-grill environments and understands how to balance hospitality, operational excellence, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Restaurant Operations

• Lead all day-to-day Front-of-House and Back-of-House operations.
• Ensure exceptional guest service, food quality, cleanliness, and operational consistency.
• Serve as the leader on duty during peak service periods and closing shifts.
• Support kitchen operations as needed, including food preparation, expediting, and assisting during busy service.
• Oversee dine-in, carryout, catering, banquet, and delivery operations.

Team Leadership

• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and develop restaurant team members.
• Build a positive, accountable, and team-oriented culture.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development.
• Create efficient schedules that balance business needs with labor goals.
• Lead by example through a hands-on management style and strong work ethic.

Financial Management

• Manage restaurant profitability through effective labor scheduling and food cost control.
• Monitor inventory levels, ordering, waste, and product quality.
• Maintain accountability for restaurant P&L performance.
• Analyze operational reports and implement action plans to improve performance.
• Ensure proper cash handling and compliance with company procedures.

Guest Experience

• Deliver an outstanding dining experience through exceptional hospitality.
• Resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
• Ensure consistent execution of menu items and service standards.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure compliance with all local health, food safety, and liquor regulations.
• Maintain a safe working environment for guests and employees.
• Ensure all certifications and operational standards remain current.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of restaurant management experience in a full-service restaurant, pizzeria, Italian restaurant, or bar-and-grill environment.
• Strong leadership experience overseeing both Front-of-House and Back-of-House operations.
• Experience managing restaurant labor, food costs, inventory, and profitability.
• Working knowledge of restaurant P&L statements and financial performance.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
• Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in independent restaurants or family-owned hospitality businesses.
• Pizza, Italian cuisine, or kitchen leadership experience.
• Catering or banquet operations experience.
• Food Service Manager Certification.
• BASSET Certification (or ability to obtain).
• ServSafe Food Handler or Food Manager Certification.
• Experience managing bar operations is a plus.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
