Senior Property Accountant
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $90,000 to $110,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage accounting activities for a portfolio of properties, including financial reporting, reconciliations, and month end close processes.
- Prepare and review expense allocations, tenant billings, and reconciliations to ensure accurate cost recovery and reporting.
- Maintain accruals, prepaid expense schedules, and related accounting records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies while partnering with property management, leasing, and finance teams.
- Prepare financial analyses, reporting packages, and supporting schedules while identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within commercial real estate or property accounting environments.
- Strong understanding of property accounting, tenant billing, accrual accounting, and financial reporting processes.
- Previous experience with property management or real estate accounting software platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of lease agreements and the financial impact of lease terms on billing and property operations.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex reconciliation issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to stakeholders.
- Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Self motivated professional with a collaborative approach and a commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
