Property Accountant
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Property Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $45.00 to $50.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manage accounting activities for a portfolio of commercial properties and ensure accurate financial records are maintained.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules as part of the month end close process.
- Perform bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed.
- Process tenant related transactions, including billings, cash receipts, and account adjustments.
- Prepare financial reports, budget support schedules, variance analyses, and other property level reporting.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in property accounting with responsibility for full cycle accounting functions.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and accrual based financial reporting.
- Prior experience preparing reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
- Proficiency with MRI accounting software.
- Ability to work independently in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve variances.
- Effective communication skills for working with property management and internal stakeholders.
- Organized work style with the ability to manage multiple properties and priorities simultaneously.
- Self motivated approach with the ability to support both day to day accounting activities and higher level reporting needs.
