Accountant
Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking an Accountant to assist their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting pay rate of $38.00 to $40.00 per hour.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage accounting activities related to contracts grants and other funding sources while ensuring accurate financial tracking.
- Prepare financial reports analyses and budget reviews to support management decision making and compliance needs.
- Maintain general ledger accounts through journal entries reconciliations and ongoing account monitoring.
- Support month end and year end close processes while ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with audits contract billing reimbursement requests and special projects as needed.
Requirements
- A Bachelor degree in accounting finance or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in a professional environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of accounting principles auditing practices and financial reporting requirements.
- Possess advanced Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software systems.
- Maintain the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Qualifications
- Apply strong analytical and quantitative skills when evaluating financial data and preparing reports.
- Communicate effectively with management auditors and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Maintain exceptional attention to detail and accuracy when handling financial records and reconciliations.
- Demonstrate initiative and a focus on process improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
- Bring experience with nonprofit organizations government contracts fund accounting or Sage Intacct considered beneficial.
