Our client is a steadily growing financial services firm seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team. This is a hands-on role supporting the company's day-to-day accounting operations and working closely with accounting leadership. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working independently, and interested in taking on additional responsibilities as the company continues to grow.

Bookkeeper Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including vendor invoices, payments, client billing, and deposits
  
  
• Monitor daily bank activity and assist with cash management, transfers, and deposits
  
  
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
  
  
• The Bookkeeper will prepare journal entries and assist with general ledger activity and month-end close
  
  
• Assist with financial reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports
  
  
• Perform basic variance analysis and research discrepancies to help identify and resolve accounting issues
  
  
• Support 1099 preparation, payroll-related payments, expense reimbursements, and other accounting activities
  
  
• The Bookkeeper will build and maintain Excel templates, formulas, and PivotTables to improve accounting processes and reporting
  
  
• Identify opportunities to streamline recurring processes and leverage technology and AI tools to improve efficiency
  
  
• Assist with special accounting and operational projects as needed
  
  

Qualifications for the Bookkeeper Role

• Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience required
  
  
• Strong understanding of AP, AR, reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  
  
• QuickBooks Online experience required
  
  
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and PivotTables
  
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  
  
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  
  
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
  
  
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
  
  
• Interest in process improvement, automation, and using technology to improve efficiency
  
  
• Financial services, professional services, or family office experience is a plus
