Job Title: Press Brake Operator / Metal Fabrication Technician
Job Description
This hands-on role focuses on setting up and operating traditional press brake and shear machines while performing welding and full-scale metal fabrication. You will work from custom blueprints and diagrams to produce high-quality parts, support various shop tasks, and ensure all components meet required specifications through careful inspection.
Responsibilities

• Set up and operate an old-school Standard press brake to form and bend metal parts according to specifications.
• Set up and operate a shear machine to cut metal materials to precise dimensions.
• Perform welding tasks, including setting up jigs to support accurate and consistent fabrication work.
• Carry out metal fabrication activities, including cutting, forming, fitting, and assembling metal components.
• Assist with a variety of shop duties such as welding, brazing, fabrication, installation, and assembly as needed.
• Interpret and utilize custom blueprints and diagrams to determine dimensions, tolerances, and fabrication processes.
• Conduct quality inspections on parts to verify accuracy, structural integrity, and adherence to specifications.
• Use shop math and mechanical reasoning to troubleshoot issues with parts, setups, or machine operation.

Work Environment
You will work in a smaller, active fabrication shop that builds, fabricates, and repairs trailers and equipment. The environment is fairly dirty due to the nature of cutting, welding, and metalworking, and you will be engaged in hands-on tasks throughout the day. The shop is equipped with traditional press brakes, shear machines, welding equipment, jigs, and standard fabrication tools. You will collaborate closely with experienced, long-tenured employees in a setting that values practical skills, teamwork, and productivity.

This is a Permanent position based out of Maple Grove, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
