For over 40 years, SPL specializes in the development and cGMP compliant manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). SPL has an exciting opportunity to join the team as an Accounting Assistant.

Flexibility, willingness to step up and help and learn new things in a team environment are key characteristics of the General Accounting Assistant. It is anticipated that this position will evolve and change with time. Initially, the Accounting Assistant will primarily assist with and take ownership of the accounts payable process. As the SPL Accounting department grows and evolves, it is anticipated that this position will also help support the team in other areas such as Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Account Reconciliations and/or other Accounting Special Projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Supports supervisory and executive staff by performing assigned accounting and clerical tasks.
• Record vendor invoices in ERP and obtain payment approvals.
• Maintain & manage A/P email boxes.
• Serve as back up for the accounts receivable and payroll functions.
• Prepare customer invoices & credit memos and record payments collected.
• Assist with month end close by performing journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
• Perform general office support like filing, scanning, and other administrative tasks.
• Provide documentation requested in conjunction with financial statement audits.
• Help provide and prepare information for reports in a timely manner.
• Mailing checks, invoices, and other business communications.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

Experience: 2 plus years preferred

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. required, Associate's degree or above in Accounting or related discipline preferred
