Qualifications and Skills:

• Valid Special Education Teacher license
• Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher or Behavior Specialist, preferably in a school setting
• Knowledge of current best practices in special education and behavioral intervention
• Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learning needs and abilities
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with students, families, and colleagues
• Solid understanding of IEP development and implementation

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver individualized instruction to students with special needs, adapting lessons to meet academic and behavioral goals
• Implement effective behavioral interventions, monitoring progress and adjusting strategies as needed
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
• Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the creation and review of student plans
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of student progress and behavioral data
• Communicate regularly with families, providing updates and support for student growth
