What You'll Do

As a CNC Machinist Programmer, you'll produce precision components used in commercial bread slicing equipment and related manufacturing systems. This role combines CNC programming, machining, troubleshooting, and fabrication in a highly collaborative shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs from engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and machining centers to manufacture precision parts.
• Work closely with engineering to transform concepts, prints, and ideas into finished components.
• Produce prototype parts, production-run components, and repair or replacement machine parts.
• Design and build custom fixtures and jigs to improve quality, efficiency, and repeatability.
• Select tooling, determine feeds and speeds, and establish effective machining strategies.
• Utilize manual machine tools including mills, lathes, drill presses, and band saws when needed.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment such as micrometers and calipers.
• Troubleshoot dimensional or machining issues and make necessary program adjustments.
• Reverse engineer and fabricate components from legacy parts when drawings are unavailable.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, quality, and productivity.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work area.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills

• Some CNC programming experience and the ability to edit programs at the machine (G&M Code)
• Experience with Mastercam or similar CAM software.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
• Strong machining fundamentals including milling, turning, drilling, and setup.
• Knowledge of tooling selection, feeds and speeds, and machining best practices.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to CNC program using G&M code
• Knowledge and experience with Tool & Die.
• Knowledge of machining components for industrial equipment or machinery.
• Experience creating custom fixtures and tooling.
• Maintenance machining or repair-part fabrication experience.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering and production teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Davenport, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
