This full-time contract opportunity allows you to apply your expertise as a Special Education Teacher and Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) to support and uplift students with diverse learning needs.

As the designated specialist at a single middle school, you’ll collaborate closely with colleagues to deliver outstanding individualized support and ensure effective instruction for students with disabilities. You will mentor other special education teachers in lesson planning, engage meaningfully in IEP processes, and contribute proactively to a positive school environment.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan special education teaching endorsement
• Prior experience delivering special education at the middle school level
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills for guiding fellow educators
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs
• Deep understanding of a variety of learning disabilities and relevant strategies for student support
• Excellent communication skills for building partnerships with staff and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and individualized support to students with disabilities
• Lead and support lesson planning for special education programming
• Actively participate in and help facilitate IEP meetings
• Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adapt strategies as needed
• Serve as a mentor and resource for other special education staff
• Work collaboratively to create inclusive, effective learning environments
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations

This position features typical school hours from 7:40am to 2:43pm with the satisfaction of supporting students' academic and personal development throughout the academic year.
