Key Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Special Education certification is required.
• Experience working with middle school age groups.
• Strong knowledge of best practices in Individualized Education Program (IEP) development and implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to consult with general education teachers and contribute to positive outcomes for students with diverse needs.
• Ability to effectively manage a caseload and collaborate with families, support staff, and administration.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Role Responsibilities:

• Serve as a Teacher Consultant for middle school students, supporting their academic and behavioral growth.
• Collaborate closely with classroom educators to modify curriculum and develop effective accommodations.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations for special education.
• Monitor student progress, provide direct and consultative services, and ensure all documentation is accurate and timely.
• Act as a resource for families, advocating for student needs and fostering a team approach.
• Maintain flexibility in approach to best serve a varied caseload.
