About the Role
The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Mass Tort and Complex Casualty Claims. This role is pivotal in the company's mission to reimagine the way it helps customers manage risk. The successful candidate will be a Manager and Leader within the Mass Tort and Complex Casualty Claims Department, responsible for overseeing a team of approximately 6 claims adjusters. The team will be at the forefront of addressing sophisticated litigation and coverage issues, including long-tail bodily injury and property damage exposures, as well as emerging risks such as PFAS and opioids. The role involves monitoring and guiding reserving, expenses, and payments, developing the team's claims handling skills, and managing communication with insureds and external clients. The ideal candidate will have a background in legal, insurance, construction defect, or environmental fields, with a preference for those with 5+ years of experience in these areas. To succeed in this position, the candidate must have a strong technical background, demonstrated experience in evaluations and investigations related to coverage, liability, and damage issues, and the ability to communicate and present information effectively. The role also requires the ability to lead and empower a team, identify and escalate complex claims, and support departmental initiatives for improved claim processes and financial results. The candidate should be ready to take their career to the next level, be driven to collaborate with leadership across the business, and be adept at developing and executing creative solutions to challenging problems.
