Trauma Outreach And Education Program CoordinatorThe Trauma Outreach and Education Program Coordinator reports to the Manager of the Center for Injury Prevention & Policy and oversees all aspects of internal education programs at the University of Maryland's R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. This role manages and develops a range of programs, including the Domestic and International Observation Program, EMS Observation Program, and initiatives for high school-aged teens such as Minds of the Future and the Summer Programs. The Outreach and Education Program coordinator is also responsible for coordinating all tours of the Shock Trauma Center, ensuring that visitors experience an informative and engaging introduction to the Center's work.A critical part of this position's mission is to expand community awareness and engagement with the Shock Trauma Center's offerings, exposing a broader audience to advanced trauma care and system development, innovative injury prevention practices, and career pathways in medical fields. Through these programs and tours, participants gain valuable insights into medical careers, while the broader community develops a deeper understanding of advanced trauma care, trauma systems, and injury prevention.Principal Responsibilities And TasksThe following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.Oversee and manage internal education programs hosted by R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, including the Domestic and International Observation Programs, EMS Observation Program, and school-focused programs such as Minds of the Future and the Summer programs.Collaborate with Community Health and Workforce Development, and Injury Prevention Coordinators to design programs tailored for partner schools.Coordinate the International Observer Program with its Director, ensuring smooth onboarding, scheduling, and participant supportEstablish and manage high school and college internship programs, including application, onboarding, and structure.Serve as the primary coordinator for Shock Trauma Center tours, offering informative experiences aligned with the Center's mission.Develop and maintain data systems to track participation, program outcomes, and feedback.Analyze program data to assess effectiveness, identify trends, and support continuous improvement.Prepare and present data-driven reports on program metrics to leadership, supporting future planning.Ensure data management and reporting activities adhere to internal policies and privacy standards.Act as a key contact for participants, interns, students, and the public, providing program information and support.Communicate program goals, objectives, and schedules clearly to stakeholders, fostering engagement and alignment.Utilize technology tools, including Smartsheets, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Teams, for scheduling, tracking, and resource organization.Maintain accurate program records, generating reports and supporting educational initiatives as needed.Provide direction to program staff, delegate tasks, and work collaboratively across departments to ensure seamless program delivery.Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse audiences.Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities to manage overlapping program responsibilities and projects.Ability to delegate tasks effectively and work collaboratively with team members and departments.Strong diplomacy, collaboration, and presentation skills.Ability to facilitate teams and help group reach consensus on complex issues.Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and staff across the University of Maryland Medical System.Oral and written communication skills, including the ability to teach technical/analytical concepts to non-technical managers and staff.Strong analytical skills. Ability to examine data for trends and the ability to turn data into information for action.Education And ExperienceBachelor's degree in Education, Public Health, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.Minimum of three (3) years of program management experience, ideally within a healthcare or educational setting.Proficient data analytic skills preferred.Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, analytical, organization skills are required.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Smartsheets and other programsAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
