We are seeking candidates for our Assistant Vice President - Programming & Development senior leader position who shapes how our organization designs, builds, and delivers software. This role provides strategic oversight of all programming and development functions — including systems architecture, UI/UX, database design, application programming, testing, controls, and user experience — ensuring every solution is scalable, efficient, and aligned with business goals.

You will lead three focused programming teams (eight team members total), setting engineering standards, elevating development practices, and mentoring programming talent to strengthen capability and performance across the department. Working closely with stakeholders, you will translate complex business requirements into clear technical specifications, define workflows and proof‑of‑concepts, and ensure systems are thoughtfully engineered to manage all requirement variables.

What You’ll Do

• Program requirements development — Collaborate with project owners and stakeholders to gather, define, and meet program requirements, considering buy‑vs‑build options and best‑practice approaches. Successfully works with cross functional teams to integrate solutions that achieve desired results.

• Workflow design — Work with stakeholders to design and sequence workflow processes that align with user expectations.

• Resource and project planning — Align project load with resource availability by performing work breakdowns, estimating tasks and labor hours, and communicating constraints to stakeholders and Management.

• Project guidance and communication — Participate in meetings to provide direction, manage delivery expectations, and maintain transparency regarding departmental resource availability.

• Team development and liaison work — Support programmers’ ongoing development, ensure skills remain current, and serve as a liaison between programmers and organizational stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate work completion.

• System accuracy and issue resolution — Investigate program errors, identify root causes, propose solutions, establish debugging protocols, and perform functional testing with documented results.

• Strategic planning and reporting — Report workload and project status to all organizational levels; set annual budgets and business plans; and establish policies and procedures for programming, development, system lifecycles, technology research, deployments, maintenance, and sunsetting.

• Cultivate a positive, respectful, and collaborative culture -- across the organization--foster strong relationships among staff, departments, branches, and external partners. Champion a caring and inclusive environment for both employees and members, aligned with the Credit Union's mission and values.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university and minimum seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of formal education and experience. Master’s degree desirable. Minimum five years of prior management and leadership experience required.

This position is hybrid at our Remote Operations Center at 100 East Royal Lane, Suite 300, Irving, and compensation is based on experience and qualifications, ranging from $137,000 to $171,000.
