Location: Atlanta, GA / Hybrid Contract - 3 Years Client: Southern Company Services

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master IV to support Agile delivery initiatives within a fast-paced utility and energy technology environment.

This role serves as a servant leader and delivery-focused Agile coach responsible for enabling Agile teams to consistently deliver business value while maintaining alignment with project commitments, timelines, and organizational goals.

The ideal candidate will possess strong Scrum facilitation skills, advanced Jira expertise, and the ability to partner effectively with Project Managers, Product Owners, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to drive predictable and high-quality delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Delivery & Execution

• Partner closely with Project Managers to align sprint execution with delivery milestones, project commitments, cross-team dependencies, and release timelines.
• Support delivery planning, forecasting, and risk management activities.
• Reinforce Agile principles while maintaining strong delivery focus and execution discipline.
• Help teams improve delivery predictability, quality, and flow efficiency.

Scrum Facilitation

• Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement.
• Ensure Scrum events drive planning clarity, team alignment, continuous improvement, and delivery accountability.
• Lead retrospectives focused on measurable process and delivery improvements.

Agile Coaching & Team Enablement

• Coach Agile teams in self-management, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Guide Product Owners, stakeholders, and Project Managers on Agile best practices.
• Foster a culture of ownership, transparency, and outcome-focused execution.
• Identify and help remove organizational and team-level impediments impacting delivery.

Jira Administration & Metrics

• Serve as the Jira subject matter expert for Agile delivery tracking and transparency.
• Manage and optimize Jira boards, workflows, dashboards, backlogs, and reporting structures.
• Coach teams on backlog readiness, sprint tracking, dependency visibility, and work item management.
• Utilize delivery metrics and dashboards to support continuous improvement and delivery discussions.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Provide clear visibility into sprint progress, risks and blockers, team capacity, and delivery health.
• Communicate effectively with leadership teams, technical teams, product stakeholders, and business partners.
• Support alignment between Agile teams and enterprise delivery objectives.

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Agile Delivery Lead.
• Strong background supporting Agile delivery in enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with Project Managers and cross-functional stakeholders.

Agile & Scrum Knowledge

• Strong understanding of Scrum framework, Agile delivery methodologies, sprint planning and execution, Agile metrics and reporting.
• Experience coaching Agile teams toward continuous improvement and delivery maturity.

Jira Expertise

• Hands-on expertise with Jira boards, workflow configuration, dashboards, reporting and metrics, backlog management.
• Ability to drive transparency and delivery tracking through Jira best practices.

Leadership & Communication

• Excellent facilitation, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and conflict resolution abilities.
• Ability to influence teams and leaders without direct authority.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting utility companies, energy organizations, enterprise IT programs, digital transformation initiatives.
• Agile certifications such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), PMI-ACP, ICP-ACC.
• Experience working in hybrid Agile/Waterfall enterprise environments.
