Accounting Manager

Reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Estimating, the Accounting Manager is a key position in a small but dynamic and integrated finance team. As a self-motivated individual living in or within commuting distance of our office, you have efficient communication skills and enjoy being a team player focused on attention to detail. You are comfortable with and able to work well in a deadline-oriented environment, including the ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with a wide range of both finance and accounting processes, with a primary focus on the day-to-day accounting and financial management of projects. Responsibilities Manage all financial and accounting activities for the plant. Oversee and manage the daily operations of the local Accounting/Finance department. Prepare annual forecasts and budgets. Monitor, analyze, and report monthly actual results against the budget. Prepare, analyze, and maintain the company's WIP schedule. Manage monthly closing process including account reconciliations, account analysis, preparation of monthly financial statements and other management reports. Interface with internal and external auditors on SOX compliance and documentation. Develop inventory management procedures with the operations team. Cash management and reporting. Monitor / analyze production costs and communicate areas for improvement to management. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in accounting Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in management Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting. Manufacturing or construction experience is preferred CPA license is preferred but not a requirement Proactive, excellent attention to detail, and strong analytical/problem solving skills Experience with SAP is a plus Experience with project tracking IT systems SOX exposure is an asset Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to adapt to system or procedural changes as they come up Salary & Benefits The salary for this position is $95,000 - $105,000 USD.
