Business Development Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join a rapidly growing Venture Capital firm. As the Business Development Manager, you will be a key driver in expanding our network, identifying new investment opportunities, and fostering strategic partnerships. Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including sourcing potential investment targets, conducting market research, and building relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and other stakeholders.
  • Investment Analysis: Conduct thorough due diligence on potential investment opportunities, including financial analysis, market evaluation, and risk assessment.
  • Deal Execution: Collaborate with the investment team in structuring deals, negotiating terms, and ensuring smooth deal execution.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with portfolio company executives, industry partners, and other key stakeholders, leveraging these connections to drive collaboration and value creation.
  • Networking: Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities, actively promoting our brand and establishing a strong presence within the venture capital ecosystem.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay informed about the latest trends, emerging technologies, and market developments in the venture capital landscape, providing valuable insights to support investment strategies and decision-making.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare reports and presentations on investment opportunities, portfolio performance, and market trends, contributing to investment committee meetings and other strategic discussions.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the investment team and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of business objectives and drive overall organizational success.

Requirements:

  • Strong Business Development Experience: Proven track record in business development, with a focus on identifying and securing investment opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth.
  • Financial Background: Solid understanding of financial concepts and analysis, with experience in financial modeling, due diligence, and investment valuation.
  • Series 7 or Series 65: Possess a valid Series 7 or Series 65 license, demonstrating knowledge of securities regulations and compliance.
  • Venture Capital Experience: Previous experience in venture capital or private equity, with a deep understanding of the venture capital investment process and familiarity with the startup ecosystem.
  • Outgoing Personality: Highly self-motivated and driven, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Your natural ability to build rapport and connect with individuals will be instrumental in establishing and nurturing relationships.
  • Results-Oriented: Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed targets, with a focus on driving business growth and achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capability to evaluate investment opportunities, analyze market trends, and assess risk effectively.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities and business needs.
