Financial Aid Officer Job Category: Academic Staff Employment Type: Regular Job Profile: Financial Aid Officer Department: Scholarships and Financial Aid Compensation: $48,000 annually Essential Duties and Responsibilities Represent UW‑Parkside Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid at university and off‑campus events, including presentations and FAFSA assistance. Provide counseling to students and families about the financial aid process, paperwork, budgeting, and payments. Assist in collecting and reviewing documentation, explaining requirements, and preparing financial aid applications. Review financial aid applications and aid awarding decisions, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Assist in reporting requirements to third‑party stakeholders (scholarship organizations, state agencies, the Department of Education). Maintain regulatory compliance with federal and state regulations related to financial aid and student data. Perform additional duties as assigned. Key Job Responsibilities Triage processes or applications when issues arise. Allocate financial aid to qualifying students and audit award decisions. Hire, train, and supervise student employees. Serve as a point of contact for third‑party stakeholders on financial aid information and processes. Collect, prepare, and analyze financial aid data for stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience using a student information system (PeopleSoft, Banner, Ellucian, etc.). Knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations.
