Registered Nurse CVICU

The Registered Nurse in the CVICU provides specialized critical care to cardiovascular patients, supporting physicians in patient treatment and recovery. They are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and documenting high-level nursing care tailored to complex cardiac conditions.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate cardiovascular patients' conditions through comprehensive assessments.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Perform therapeutic interventions, including managing advanced devices like LVADs, balloons pumps, and ECMO.
• Monitor and document patient responses, clinical changes, and procedural outcomes.
• Advocate for evidence-based practices and incorporate innovations into patient care.
• Support continuity of care through patient advocacy and interdisciplinary communication.

Qualifications

• Possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in a CVICU or cardiac intensive care setting.
• Demonstrate proficiency in telemetry, stepdown, thoracic, and vascular care.
• Hold an active NJ State Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• Obtain and maintain BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA.
• Have licensure and competency in managing LVADs and other critical cardiac devices.
