Travel RN Observation Unit - $2,278 per week

Job Description & Requirements

• Assume responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame using the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial, and human resources.
• Perform all responsibilities and duties specific to the scope of service in the unit.
• Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation to assure the integration of information for healthcare team use.
• Complete initial assessments upon patient admission and develop appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs.
• Implement plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures, and modify them based upon continuous evaluation.
• Report and correct safety hazards and incidents to ensure patient and employee safety.
• Communicate directly and privately with others to resolve issues.
• Offer constructive feedback to assist in peers' professional development and confer with colleagues to expand knowledge.
• Identify personal learning needs and take initiative for appropriate solutions.
• Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Department-Specific Functions:

• Assess IV sites every 4 hours and start new IVs as per policy.
• Maintain documentation standards with quarterly chart audits.
• Attend a minimum of 5 out of 6 staff meetings per year.
• Identify changes in patient status and respond appropriately.

Candidate Requirements:

• Current Trauma 1 experience within 6 months to a year.
• Experience with EPIC systems.
