The environment is team-oriented and social, with employees regularly collaborating and supporting one another. The paralegal group consists of approximately 10 team members who work closely together while partnering directly with attorneys on active caseloads.

Job Description:

We are seeking a Junior Paralegal with prior personal injury litigation experience to join a growing legal team. This individual will partner closely with a designated attorney and assist with managing a high-volume caseload from the initial complaint through trial preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

Partner directly with an assigned attorney to support a caseload of approximately 50–100 active matters.

Assist with personal injury cases throughout the litigation process, from initial complaint through trial preparation.

Draft, prepare, and electronically file complaints, motions, pleadings, and other court documents.

Coordinate service of process and track important case deadlines.

Prepare and respond to written discovery requests and maintain related documentation.

Organize and maintain complete case files, ensuring documents and case information remain current and accessible.

Communicate regularly with clients regarding case information, documentation, and next steps.

Conduct preliminary client conversations and coordinate formal attorney intake meetings.

Request, organize, review, and summarize medical records and billing documentation.

Maintain attorney calendars, litigation deadlines, hearings, appointments, and other case-related commitments.

Assist with discovery and trial preparation, including organizing supporting documentation and case materials.

Support matters involving motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, construction-related injuries, uninsured/underinsured motorist claims, and other personal injury cases.

Draft correspondence and assist with additional litigation-related administrative needs.

Qualifications:

2+ years of litigation paralegal experience within personal injury required.

Experience supporting personal injury matters from complaint through trial preparation.

Strong knowledge of complaint preparation and filing, service of process, written discovery, and case file management.

Familiarity with Illinois state and federal court procedures related to personal injury litigation.

Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload while working closely with an assigned attorney.

Experience obtaining and reviewing medical records and bills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Strong client service skills and confidence communicating directly with clients.

Spanish/English bilingual skills are preferred but not required.

Additional Details:

Direct-hire opportunity created due to continued firm growth.

Position will initially be fully onsite for the first 3 months.

After the introductory period, employees may work remotely 1 day per week.
