Electrical Cad Technician (Contract-To-Hire)

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Cad Technician to join our team in a contract-to-hire capacity in Charlotte, NC. This role supports technical teams of detailers, designers, and engineers in delivering high-quality drafting and design solutions across a variety of projects. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and revising engineering drawings based on sketches, layouts, and design concepts
• Support the development and updating of plot drawings
• Follow company and client drafting standards and procedures
• Apply discipline-specific drafting practices to assigned work
• Contribute to drafting design and documentation for multiple projects
• Utilize standard drafting tools and programs to complete tasks
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to drafting quality and efficiency
• Research and help resolve design challenges, offering practical solutions
• Support ad hoc assignments and additional tasks as directed by management
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and standards

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, with coursework in drafting technology
• 1–3 years of relevant drafting/CAD experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Solid problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally

Preferred Qualifications

• CAD certification or specialized technical training
• Experience with 3D modeling tools such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Revit, or MicroStation (industry-related experience preferred)
• Familiarity with AI tools and a general understanding of large language models (LLMs), including their capabilities and limitations
• Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
