Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our General Ledger (GL) team. This role is responsible for overseeing the month-end close process, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and driving process improvements across accounting operations. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with deep technical accounting expertise and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. Responsibilities Manage and mentor a team of GL accountants, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for completeness and accuracy Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies Analyze financial results and variances, providing insights to senior leadership Partner cross-functionally with AP, AR, Payroll, and external auditors Lead audit support, including preparation of schedules and coordination with external auditors Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the GL function Assist with system implementations, upgrades, or ERP enhancements as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally Preferred Qualifications Experience in a fast-paced or high-growth environment Prior experience managing month-end close in a multi-entity structure Background in public accounting (Big 4 or regional firm) Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain high-performing teams Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency #J-18808-Ljbffr Matrix Finance and Accounting
