CTSI Research Associate I - Per Diem

Job Profile Summary This role focuses on research and development of new products, innovation, and improvement of products and processes. It includes supporting the development of new products, innovation, and clinical roles focused on research projects. Positions in this family perform basic, translational, and/or clinical research toward solving specific problems for an entity or community. A professional individual contributor role may direct the work of lower-level professionals or manage processes and programs. The majority of the time is spent overseeing the design, implementation, or delivery of processes, programs, and policies using specialized knowledge typically acquired through advanced education and work experience. The role works independently with general supervision, facing difficult but not complex problems, and may influence others through explanation of facts, policies, and practices. Job Overview This position reports to the Principal Investigator and is responsible for assisting with the design, implementation, and evaluation of various research studies. It may also supervise other research assistants or students in the Principal Investigator’s laboratory. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. One (1) year of experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree. Three (3) years of experience in a medical or clinical research environment. Experience working with data and analyses in SAS, SPSS, or S-Plus. Experience teaching statistics and statistical programming. Duties and Responsibilities Participates in defining the scope and intent of the research project and assists in the experimental design of the studies. Implements laboratory experiments and records data. Participates in the analysis of data and assists in writing research papers describing the studies and results. Performs molecular biology techniques and trains others in the laboratory as necessary. Oversees the maintenance of equipment and ordering/stocking of consumable supplies. Performs literature searches in pursuit of new techniques to expand relevant basic knowledge. Maintains collaborative, team relationships with peers and colleagues to effectively contribute to the working groups’ achievement of goals and to help foster a positive work environment. Physical Requirements Normal office setting. Skills & Abilities In-depth knowledge of computer programming, managing statistical databases, and analyzing biomedical data. Ability to communicate highly technical ideas to non-statisticians on a one-to-one basis, as well as in a classroom or meeting setting. Excellent writing ability and presentation skills. Ability to meet with researchers and develop a plan with them to meet their needs within their time and budget constraints. Ability to clearly explain and present statistical results to hospital researchers and investigators. Ability to work independently. Pay Range $26.87 - $33.59 #J-18808-Ljbffr Tufts Medicine
