Required Qualifications:

• Valid Louisiana Special Education (SPED) Educator Certificate is mandatory
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field
• Prior experience teaching students with varied learning needs preferred
• Solid understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and school staff
• Comfortable working in diverse classroom settings or with a variety of student needs
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction to meet the unique learning requirements of students with disabilities
• Develop, update, and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment focused on student growth and achievement
• Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
• Track student progress, collect data, and adapt strategies to maximize student outcomes
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and relevant school activities
