Senior HR Generalist

Job Summary Responsible to develop, communicate, and administer HR policies and programs under the direction of HR Leadership within a geographical and/or functional area that supports the company’s overall business plan. Remote work permitted but candidate must be located in Massachusetts, New York, or New Jersey. The role requires travel of 25% to 50%. Responsibilities Support approximately 300–450 employees. Interpret and explain HR policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations on a daily basis to managers and employees. Serve as an HR Business Partner to field leadership. Direct and manage tasks, programs, and projects within the Field team. Provide strategic consulting to field leadership and hiring managers regarding staffing, compensation, performance management, employee relations, policy compliance, training, etc. Provide direction, coaching, and leadership to assigned HR staff, as applicable. Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency of services. Partner with Centers of Expertise for payroll, benefits, and national HR programs. Ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation and monitor local EEO practices. Provide on‑site leadership and support during outsourcing contracts, mergers, acquisitions, and employee transition activities. Conduct employee relations counseling, mediation, and investigations. Maintain advanced knowledge of HR systems. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. 5+ years of HR experience or equivalent education and experience. Ability to analyze, prioritize, and delegate. Leadership skills and ability to hire and retain high achievers. Strong interpersonal, problem‑solving, verbal, written, and presentation skills. Willingness to travel as required. Proven record of excellent internal and external customer service. Location & Travel Requirements Hybrid role (MA, NY, or NJ) with 2–3 days per week at client locations. Candidate will support multiple sites across a regional territory (NY, NJ, MA). Travel: 10–20% regional travel throughout NY, NJ, CT, RI, MA; occasional overnight travel; national travel 2–3 times per year. Compensation Salary range: $83,300.00 – $98,000.00. Compensation determined by collective bargaining agreement, geographic area, market pay rates, experience, and qualifications. Minimum wage guaranteed.
