POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilities & Safety Coordinator supports the safe, clean, functional, accessible, and professional operation of Segue, Inc. facilities while coordinating day-to-day activities that support the organization's safety program.
The position performs custodial services, preventive maintenance, routine building and equipment repairs, grounds and seasonal upkeep, building-systems monitoring, supply and inventory control, required facilities documentation, and coordination with contractors and inspectors. Routine facilities and safety coordination responsibilities are performed independently within the employee's training, authority, and established procedures. Conditions requiring licensed trades, specialized expertise, significant expenditure, regulatory interpretation, investigation, or leadership action are promptly escalated to the appropriate organizational leader.

- Ability to appropriately recognize matters requiring escalation to the Safety Officer, leadership, licensed professionals, emergency personnel, or other appropriate resources.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions, equipment manuals, diagrams, preventive-maintenance schedules, chemical instructions, and safety information.
- Basic computer skills, including email and the ability to maintain electronic logs, inventories, schedules, and work-related records.
- Ability to organize work, respond to changing priorities, communicate needed repairs or safety concerns promptly, and complete assigned tasks reliably.
- Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and an acceptable driving record when operating an agency or personal vehicle for work purposes.
Preferred:
- Technical, vocational, apprenticeship, or other formal training in facilities maintenance, building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, boiler operations, or a related trade.
- Applicable building-maintenance, boiler, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pool, safety, or equipment certification relevant to the duties assigned.
- Experience maintaining boilers, HVAC systems, building automation or remote-monitoring systems, and preventive-maintenance programs.
- Experience supporting safety or regulatory compliance in healthcare, behavioral health, human services, education, nonprofit, or another regulated environment.
- Experience with CARF or other healthcare/human-service accreditation standards.
- OSHA, workplace safety, emergency preparedness, CPR/First Aid, facilities safety, or other relevant safety training or certification.
